Privacy policy for personal-gmail-mcp
Last updated
What the app is
personal-gmail-mcp is a personal tool. It lets Claude Code, running on my own Mac, read my personal Gmail account. Its only user is its owner, Mark Sulleza (marksulleza@gmail.com). It is not offered to anyone else.
What it can access
The app asks Google for one permission: read-only access to Gmail (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly). It cannot send, delete, label or otherwise change mail.
How email is used
Email is read on demand, on my own Mac, when I ask Claude Code something that needs it. The app passes the messages it reads to that Claude Code session. Claude Code sends the session’s content, including those messages, to Anthropic’s API to process my request, under my own Anthropic account.
The app does not store email on any server. It does not sell email, and it does not share email with anyone other than Anthropic as described above.
The app does not use Gmail data to train AI models.
What is stored, and where
- The OAuth refresh token is stored only in the macOS Keychain on that Mac.
- Attachments I choose to save go to a local folder on that Mac (
~/Downloads/personal-gmail) and stay there.
The app keeps nothing else. Claude Code’s own session history on that Mac can include messages the app read for it.
Google API Services User Data Policy
personal-gmail-mcp’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time atmyaccount.google.com/connections, or by running npm run logout in the app’s folder, which revokes the sign-in at Google and removes the token from the Keychain.
